Minsu Kim
Minsu Kim is a choreographer who uses his own unique way of seeing the world to turn everyday moments into thought-provoking art.He founded Lucas Crew in 2021 to continue experimenting with storytelling through movement. His work begins with intuition and repetition. What may seem simple at first is a meticulously constructed series of movements designed to evoke subtle unease and draw attention. To Kim, movement is not just a physical expression but a connective thread between the individual, society, and the intangible. In the tension created by the interplay of sound and movement, he hopes his work will prompt audiences to question and reawaken their senses.Kim’s creative process always begins with one fundamental question: Why?
Exploring the interactions between the body, the mind, and the world around them, he challenges the boundaries between stage and reality in every project. His choreography seeks not just beauty but also the imperfect and the indescribable. It is in these spaces that dialogue with the audience begins, inviting diverse interpretations and personal reflections. His notable works include Rite of Spring: March of the Unconscious (supported by the Arts Council Korea), Hands (Winner of Best Performance at DJINDF, invited to the Detroit Dance Festival and DUMBO Dance Festival in the U.S.), Mio Maria (Recipient of Best Performer Award and Audience Award at the SoloDuo Festival in Cologne, Critic’s Choice at the Battery Dance Festival in New York), and Circulating Light (Grand Prize winner at Daegu Art Factory 2022, selected for the Lulu Concert by the Suseong Cultural Foundation).
